There are lots of ways to volunteer!

Volunteer just once, or on a recurring basis. Volunteer to help with a project at the school, or work on a project at home on your own schedule. There are many roles for volunteers at UCS! You can make the difference for your child or other by serving as a volunteer. Please use the methods below to sign up to become a volunteer. You will be contacted with additional steps once we know your interest!

Room Parent for Class Parties

PTA School-Wide Committee Descriptions

Book Fair Committee– This committee is responsible for the book fairs held throughout the year. Committee members will work with UCS to set up, staff, and take down the book fair. Assist in sending out reminders prior to the book fair and schedule classroom visits to the book fair.

DREAM Week Committee– This committee is responsible for planning activities for the inaugural DREAM Week. These activities are similar to a homecoming week at traditional schools. Committee members will work with UCS to plan activities each day for student and a family fun/game night!

Fall Fest Committee– This committee is responsible for planning activities for the Fall Festival in conjunction with Campus School PTA. Committee members will organize games, prizes, volunteers, pumpkin painting and more!

Box Tops Committee– This committee is responsible for preparing box tops for submission in October and February. Committee members will collect, sort, and bundle submitted box tops from UCS students.

Charleston Wrap Fundraiser Committee– This committee is responsible for organizing fundraising items once received. Committee members will help sort and disseminate fundraising items when they are ready to be sent home with students.

Read across America Committee– This committee is responsible for organizing the Read Across America event at UCS. Committee members will work with teachers to plan activities, recruit readers, and schedule volunteer readers.

Week of the Young Child Committee– This committee is responsible for organizing activities for Week of the Young Child. Committee members will plan a special event or activity where volunteers are needed for each day of the week.

Spring 5K Color Run Committee– This committee is responsible for planning the 5K color run. Committee members will be responsible for recruiting volunteers, working stations, and planning activities for the day.

Teacher Appreciation Week Committee– This committee is responsible for planning teacher appreciation week. Committee members will plan special teacher appreciation treats for UCS teachers during the week.

UCS Inaugural Yearbook Committee– This committee is responsible for assisting in planning the layout for the yearbook. Committee members will help select vendors, layout yearbook, volunteer to assist during picture day and much more!

Classroom Volunteer Descriptions

Classroom volunteers may assist with copying, laminating, cutting, pasting, participate in field trips, classroom bulletin boards, work with small groups, work with individuals, filing, or at home projects!

Room parents for class parties are responsible for organizing parents to send items to school for the parties such as cupcakes or cookies, chips, fruit/healthy snack, juice, and goody bags
