    Free Breakfast and Lunch

    For the School Year 2023-2024, UCS will participate in the Community Elgibility Provision (CEP). This USDA provision allows your enrolled child(ren) to participate in the school meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. For more information, please click here.

UCS is part of Place Network Schools. Place Network Schools is a collaborative network of rural K-12 schools that connect learning and communities to increase engagement, learner outcomes, and community impact through transformative place-based education.
Alabama Bicentennial
On August 3, 2018, Governor Kay Ivey announced the 200 Alabama Bicentennial Schools. Each school received a $2,000 grant to support a year-long project designed to strengthen connections between campuses and their communities. UCS was one of the schools selected.
