Dr. Natasha Satcher-Bell is an Associate Professor at the University of West Alabama. She received  BA degree in health and physical education at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. After graduating Magna Cum Laud in Health and Physical Education, she took a position as an  Assistant for the Women’s Basketball program  at Jones County Junior College.  Three years later, she took a teaching and head coaching position at Raymond High School, located in Raymond, MS. During this time, she also worked on her doctoral degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. In August of 2006 she obtained her Ph.D. in Human Performance: Administration and Teaching and begin working at the University of West Alabama (UWA).

Over the past twelve years, Dr. Satcher-Bell has taught a variety of courses in which she brings knowledge of the subject area, high in tensity and energy. She creates a safe and enjoyable learning environment that promotes training, teamwork and life skills. She is one that creates experiences and hope students produce their own learning through attention, comprehension, and effort. She also serves on several committees. Some of those committees include: Graduate Academic Council, University Academic Council, College of Education Academic Council, Faculty Senate, Education Council Committee, SACS Undergraduate Programs Subcommittee , NCATE leadership team, COE Assessment Committee, University promotion and tenure committee. She also serves as one of the faces for UWA online programs.

Dr. Satcher-Bell provided and coordinated several programs and workshops for Sumter County School District. She helped promote the Books-A-Million Reading Celebration and sponsored a classroom, which helped raise funds so that all students attending Kinterbish Jr. High  School could purchase books to help build a collection of reading materials in their home.

Dr. Satcher-Bell has provided learning opportunities for students within and beyond the classroom environment. As Activity Director for the National  Youth Sports  Program, she was responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and running the day-to-day operations. The program stressed sports instruction to 250 youths, ages 10-16. Free instruction on nutrition, personal health, career opportunities, alcohol and other drug abuse were  provided.
